Jaro's competing town, Molo was once a seperate town from Iloilo City. Named as the Parian or the Chinese or the Mestizo Sangley community of Iloilo, it was one of the towns that grew progressive out of textile and trade.

Today, numerous old houses owned by the elite and the center of its community, the gothic-rennaisannce Iglesia de Santa Ana or La Rosa de Iloilo.
